What’s more important? PR? Traffic? Alexa?

Actually, most bloggers have ever been confronted with the question like me. As a beginner, I shall learn to how to check out some special parameters of reflection of my blog’s popularity.

It’s well known that Google PR(Page Rank) is a reflection of statement of one’s original blog posts’ being indexed by Google or other well-known search engine like Yahoo. Surely, herein you must be concerned by the ORIGINAL POST. Because Google spider could judge your post is original or not. If you believe your post is written by yourself and as long as you keep a steady frequency of post-updating, then your blog would gain a PR rising quickly. By visiting some blog with high PR, I have learnt of a valuable saying: the quality of your blog content is the KING determining your PR. I now believe it with no doubt. Indeed, it’s none of traffic’s or Alexa’s business. Additionally, PR’s update often occurs per three months. Meanwhile, the frequency of post-updating is also important for gaining high PR. My blog has experienced “PR backing up”, namely my PR is declining from 1 to 0, which is just rooted by my laziness. So I have to be diligent now and post frequently. (I wrote a post about PR last year, namely “what’s PR”, but then I have no deep idea with the new thing.:))

Traffic is the thing harder to grab, because it is calculated by your audiences. If your site is browsed by three persons per day, then your traffic is low. Supposing there are no less than 1000 persons visiting your blog and generating more clicks between your webs, then your traffic would be valuable. I have bought a book yesterday, “making 500 Yuan per day”, which teach people to earn money by crazily generating traffic. But till now I still don’t know how to utilize traffic for exchanging into cash. In this book, there is also a good saying: traffic is the king which could generate money endlessly. It is said that a great blog also has great traffic, because the audiences like customers are always a blog’s God. They could help bloggers making money by clicking the links of ads, purchasing the goods shown on the site, etc.

About Alexa, I have nearly no idea. Because I don’t know how it works, and how significant it would be. I just know the blog is excellent if its data of Alexa is less than 1000.

In a word, the excellence includes all good traits. Certainly, an excellent blog must have high PR, great traffic and low data of Alexa. But each blog is unique, maybe some bloggers originally try their best to improve PR, and the rest of bloggers prefer to improve traffic firstly. However, they would reach the same goal by different routes. For me, I think the better way is to write good and original posts for improving my PR, and then I further try to attract more audiences to improve my traffic, because I nearly know nothing about SEO.:)
